Lao police have seized 521kg of crystal methamphetamine from a private jet that reportedly arrived from Malaysia

According to Bernama, the operation was conducted following a tip-off received by provincial police on 21 September.

Police learned that a group was allegedly planning to smuggle narcotics across borders by air.

The private flight was later rescheduled to 1 October, with the aircraft expected to arrive at Luang Prabang International Airport in Laos from Malaysia at 1.30pm.

Provincial public security authorities then instructed specialised units to monitor the situation.
