Professional shuttler Lee Zii Jia has taken legal action against his family members in a brewing battle over corporate control
According to the New Straits Times, the Malaysian badminton star filed for an interim injunction at the Kuala Lumpur High Court on 2 July 2026.

The legal dispute named his father, sister, younger brother, Lee Tao, and the management company as respondents.

The injunction also aimed to prevent the duo, who serve as company directors, from altering the shareholding structure, disposing of major assets, or changing the company secretary.
According to his supporting affidavit, Zii Jia demanded an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) to address the company's governance and internal management.
An earlier attempt to hold a meeting in December last year failed due to a lack of quorum.
Zii Jia requested the court to mandate a new EGM within 14 days of the order, along with permission to appoint an independent chairman
The family members have firmly contested the application.
In an affidavit filed on 6 August 2026, Chee Hin argued against court intervention, stating that the company continued to smoothly manage his son's professional career.
