Malaysia Breaches 4K Mark After Recording 4,029 New COVID-19 Cases In A Day

The country also recorded eight new deaths in the last 24 hours.

Today, 16 January, Malaysia recorded 4,029 new COVID-19 cases

It's the highest four-digit mark recorded by the country so far.

Amidst the cases today, the highest was recorded in Selangor with 1,466, followed by Johor at 719, Sabah at 449, Kuala Lumpur at 347 and Negeri Sembilan at 214.

The country also recorded eight new deaths in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health (MOH), today's cases are the result of activities/movements that happened before 13 January

The new cases are expected to continue to increase in the next few days
