Malaysians Can Now Have 30-Day Visa-Free Stays In China

Before this, Malaysians could only stay in China for up to 15 days without needing a visa.

China has agreed to increase visa-free stays to 30 days for Malaysian travellers

According to the Malay Mail, the announcement was made by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi during the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China today, 31 May.

Ahmad Zahid said that the implementation will happen after the agreement has been signed.

Previously, Malaysians could travel to China without needing to apply for a visa for up to 15 days only.

China also also extended its visa-free policy for 12 countries until 31 December 2025

Travellers holding ordinary passports will be allowed to enter and stay in China on a shot-term basis without visa application for business, tourism, family visits, and transit purposes.

Malaysia is one of the 12 countries, in addition to France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, and Luxembourg.

Similarly, Thailand also announced that it would increase visa-free stays from 30 days to 60 days for travellers from 93 countries.
