A man has been arrested for allegedly hiding beer in bottled water cartons to pay a lower price at a hypermarket in Bukit Mertajam, Penang
According to China Press, the incident happened on Wednesday, 21 October, when the man allegedly attempted to pay for several resealed cartons at the cashier.
However, the cashier became suspicious and opened the cartons, discovering beer inside.
The hypermarket subsequently alerted the police, who arrived at the scene and arrested the suspect.

The man allegedly placed the beer inside the bottled water cartons and resealed them in an attempt to pay the lower price at checkout.
Photos and videos of the incident have since gone viral on social media.
One photo shows the suspect being escorted into a police car, while another showed that he allegedly used cartons from several bottled water brands to conceal the beer.
