This Man Was Caught Filming An 'Upskirt' Video In Mid Valley But He Got Away In The End
Video files and photos of 'upskirt' images of other women were found on the suspect's phone.
A woman has warned the public to be vigilant after she caught a man filming an 'upskirt' video of her in Mid Valley recently
Facebook user Giney Chan said that the incident happened at the Komonoya store in the mall on Sunday, 8 January at about 5.36pm.
She was shopping in the store when she realised a man was allegedly squatting with a phone in his hands and used the phone to record a video under her skirt.
Feeling suspicious, Chan decided to confront the man
When Chan approached the man in question and requested for him to show her what is on his phone but the man apparently tried to "delete something on his phone" before passing it to her.
"I quickly snatched his phone," she said.
At the same time, Chan yelled for a friend for help, prompting the man to flee the scene. He managed to get away from the situation.
Later, with the suspect's phone in her hands, Chan found out that there were other victims who have suffered the same fate as she did
"When I browsed through his gallery, I found out there are six videos, including mine. He has precisely filtered and kept those 'good' videos," Chan said.
She claimed that the man would lurk in aisles of shops and creep up on unsuspecting female shoppers.
"He did this at different places, like pharmacy stores, accessories shop, and others. Preferably those stores with high and low shelves, so you'll lower your guard down when he bends down back face against you," she explained.
"He peeps even (when) you're not alone."
Chan believes that this man could be really daring, as seen in one of the pictures where an upskirt photo of a woman was taken even when there was another man standing right beside her.
"I believe he'll do this over and over again unless punishment and justice are served," she said, adding that she has escalated the issue to the mall's management and made a police report.
She also spoke to the Komonoya store manager to take a look at the CCTV recording, but unfortunately, it did not capture a clear picture of the culprit's face.
