Malaysian Man Loses Left Eyeball After Brawl With Foreigner In Penang
The suspect is being investigated under Section 325 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt.
A 52-year-old Malaysian man lost his left eyeball following a scuffle with a 28-year-old foreigner at a flat on Jalan Ara Kuda, Penang on 16 November
According to Berita Harian, the incident occurred at 2pm when the victim, who was reported to be drunk, allegedly disturbed the suspect.
The scuffle between the two men took a horrific turn when the suspect allegedly gouged out the victim's left eyeball with his hand.
The victim also sustained injuries to his right eye and is in critical condition. He is currently receiving treatment at the Kepala Batas Hospital in Penang.
Health Ministry personnel who arrived to transport the victim to the hospital reportedly found his left eyeball not far from the scene
The suspect was arrested by the police at the scene of the incident.
Meanwhile, Penang police chief Datuk Hamzah Ahmad confirmed the incident and said that the case is being investigated under Section 325 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt.
