A shocking video showing a man stealing a cashier's wallet at a toy store has gone viral
The two separate CCTV footages, uploaded by user @update1111 on X (formerly Twitter), has drawn widespread condemnation on social media.
According to the New Straits Times, the incident reportedly took place in Klang, Selangor.
The CCTV footage shows the man posing as a customer pretending to purchase a remote-controlled toy car.
The man is then seen stealing the female cashier's wallet as she is demonstrating the toy car
As the cashier turned her back to him to retrieve something, the man was seen grabbing her wallet from under the counter.
In a matter of seconds, he slipped it into his back pocket and continued conversing with the cashier.
The cashier appeared oblivious to the theft as she continued demonstrating the toy car.
The blatant act, captured in full view of CCTV cameras, has left netizens stunned
"Stealing from a hardworking cashier? Truly disgraceful," wrote user @Delina87.
Another, @GunaNara, remarked, "Malaysia is watching this thief's shameless face."
Meanwhile, user @MichaelLwk wondered how the thief knew that the female cashier had placed her wallet under the counter.
The police have yet to comment on the incident.
