#Budget2025: Minimum Wage To Be Increased Effective From 1 February 2025

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced that the government will increase the monthly minimum wage from RM1,500 to RM1,700 per month effective 1 February 2025

During the tabling of 2025 Budget today, 18 October, Anwar also said the RM1,700 minimum wage for employers with fewer than five employees will be enforced starting 1 August 2025.

Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, said the Human Resource Ministry will publish a guideline of basic salaries for all job sectors for employees' reference.

Meanwhile, the starting salary for industrial and production technicians will be RM2,290, the starting salary for mechanical engineers will be RM3,380, and the starting salary for creative content design professionals will be RM2,985.
