Missing 10-Year-Old Girl Found Dead After 3 Days, Police Investigate Case As Murder

A 10-year-old girl who had been missing for three days was found dead in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah yesterday, 16 July
According to the New Straits Times, Nurjilya Abdullah was reported missing on 13 July after leaving her family home in Kampung Numbak Bakau, Sepanggar.
Her body was found on a slope near a house under construction in Kampung Numbak.
Two men, aged 39 and 42, have since been arrested in connection with the case.

"Preliminary examinations at the scene found the victim's body was in an advanced state of decomposition. The victim was subsequently identified by her mother based on the clothing she was wearing when she was reported missing.
"A post-mortem examination found the cause of death was believed to be injuries to the face and back of the head, suspected to have been inflicted with a hard, blunt object," said acting district police chief Supt Syed Lot Syed Abdul Rahman.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, as police work to determine the motive.
