¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As much as ridiculous the headline may sound to you, please bear with us. Because the story is much crazier.

On 24 July, Sunday, the Malay Mail Online reported, via Galaksi Media Online, about a brand new airline's glittery launch in Subang, called MonSpace Sky Airline.

Operated by Suasa Air Sdn Bhd, MonSpace Sky Airline is reportedly operating from the KLIA, running domestic flights to Langkawi. It is owned by one Dr. Jessy Lai.

According to her "biography" on her website, she's "a multi-faceted entrepreneur", philanthropist, inspirational coach, educator, and investor. However, one of the several businesses that Dr. Jassy Lai is involved in, sounds a lot like those pyramid schemes.

According to the report, the airline will also be operating international flights to Mecca and several places in China, such as Hangzhou, Chongqing, Xi-An, and Chengdu.

MonSpace Sky Airlines claims to be "one of the largest private airlines in Malaysia", and owns "the largest fleet of Boeing 737 and 747" airplanes, it so claimed on its website.

Here's the crazy part:

The Ministry of Transport has no clue about this MonSpace Sky Airline!

Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai says the so-called airline was not even approved by Putrajaya. In fact, The Star Online quoted him saying, "I have not heard of this airline."

However, he said that the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) had only approved charter airline Suasa Air's Air Operator's Certificate, but explained it is not able to operate just yet, as it has not obtained the Air Service Permit to transport passengers.

And now the crazier part:

Remember him?

He is Zhang Jian, the Chinese national, who made headlines in the country back in 2014 after large-scale signboards were put up in Penang, proclaiming himself as "the future richest person in the world".

He was represented by one of MonSpace's operators, who had acted as Zhang's spokesperson. Zhang was forced to leave Malaysia after Putrajaya cracked down on his pyramid scheme that reportedly duped people in Malaysia RM300 million.

In short, there's a brand new airline in Malaysia, called MonSpace Sky Airline, said to be operating from KLIA.

It is owned by a businesswoman whose one of the businesses sounds slightly shady and whose company once represented Zhang Jian, a completely shady person.

Meanwhile, Putrajaya has not even heard about it.

We just hope it's not another Rayani Air waiting to happen:
