Malaysian beauty queen Sandra Lim won not only the first runner-up title at the Miss Global 2022 pageant recently, but also countless hearts online when she rushed to help a fallen presenter on stage

The 21-year-old was among 62 contestants at the Miss Global 2022 coronation ceremony last Saturday, 11 June, at the Nusa Dua Convention Centre in Bali, Indonesia.

According to a video shared by TikTok fan page @instafashionpageant, Lim was lining up on stage with other finalists when a presenter suddenly fell off the stage.

He fell into a hole between the runways after awarding Miss Lithuania the third runner-up crown.

The video shows Lim immediately rushing forward to assist the presenter while other contestants convey shocked expressions, before production crew members run in to help the fallen man.

The short clip has garnered over 160,000 views and been shared across many other fan pages, who praised Lim for her quick and selfless response

"Miss Global Malaysia Sandra Lim is so attentive, guys. She immediately went to help him. Hope the man is okay," said Indonesian TikTok account @instafashionpageant.

"Sandra Lim is a true queen. No wonder so many love her and are fans of her," echoed Malaysian Instagram fan page @malaysiapageantnews.

Lim's swift reaction was also not missed by other casual viewers

"So proud of Sandra and of Malaysia," commented a netizen on the video.

Another applauded and said, "She was the first queen to help!"

Coincidentally, a few moments later, Lim was also crowned first runner-up, standing proudly beside Shane Tormes from the Philippines who was crowned Miss Global 2022

"To my big sister, I'm proud of you for closing your chapter with the perfect full stop!" Lim wrote in a Facebook post, congratulating Tormes and sharing photos of themselves standing as the last two finalists on stage.

The KL-born and former national sparring athlete also expressed her gratitude to her team and supporters, saying, "Malaysia, we've made history. This moment is for you as much as it is for me. We did it!"

Lim is the first Malaysian to grab a title in the Miss Global beauty pageant since it was founded in 2011.

The other runner-ups were Brooke Rankin from Australia, Sandra Boriseviciute from Lithuania, and Natalia Gurgel from Brazil.
