Multiple MPs Test Positive For COVID-19 Ahead Of Monday's Parliament Sitting

A total of 35 individuals including parliament officers are reported to have been infected with the virus.

Multiple Members of Parliament (MPs) and more than two dozen of their officers have tested positive for COVID-19, according to reports

Utusan Malaysia reported that among the MPs infected with the virus is UMNO president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is the Bagan Datuk MP.

Malaysiakini reported that apart from that Zahid Hamidi, Deputy Minister of Higher Education Mansor Othman has also tested positive ahead of Monday's Parliament sitting.

Meanwhile, another four MPs were said to be close contacts.

While it is unclear how many other MPs have tested positive, it was reported that a total of 35 individuals have been infected with the virus

The number was reported by Utusan Malaysia via a source.

Malaysiakini, on the other hand, quoted Arau MP Shahidan Kassim saying that those who have tested positive must reveal themselves so that their close contacts can get tested.
