A man was allegedly caught red-handed filming upskirt videos of Internet celebrities at an event at a shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur

The incident occurred at Pavilion Bukit Jalil, where many artistes and influencers were present to promote the upcoming Chinese New Year movie, Happy Dragons, on Friday night, 19 January.

One of the alleged victims, YouTuber Han Xiao Ai, posted a video on Facebook claiming that they found numerous upskirt videos in the perpetrator's phone after he was apprehended by the public.

Malaysian actor and MyFM radio DJ Jack Lim also shared about the incident on his Facebook page, where he thanked singer Henry Teo and several food delivery riders for helping to stop the man from running away

Lim told Shin Min Daily News that the culprit was first spotted acting suspiciously by a fan, who told him about the issue. When he and Teo went to confront the man, he started to run away, but was blocked at the exit by the delivery riders.

The DJ said the perpetrator was using a paper bag with a hole to conceal his phone, attempting to discreetly approach and film women throughout the event.

"When we unlocked his phone, we saw many discreetly taken videos. I believe many of the female artistes were also secretly filmed at other events. He is a habitual offender," said Lim.

Lim also apologised for physically confronting and kicking the perpetrator even though the man was already apprehended by the police at the scene

"I am willing to bear all legal action, but this pervert secretly filmed upskirt videos of many females artistes including Han Xiao Ai, Joey Kong, and Nicole Liu, and many other assistants and female attendees.

"I admit I was impulsive but… he is a repeat offender, I'm sorry, I couldn't help it," he wrote on Facebook.

Lim also said he was at the police station until late at night to assist in the investigation.
