A nurse was found unconscious, lying face down on the ground, outside her car in Negeri Sembilan on Friday night, 19 April
According to the New Straits Times, the woman in her 30s, dressed in a white uniform, was found by passersby with her car engine still running on the roadside of Jalan Simpang Tiga Dangi in Kuala Pilah.
Based on initial information, the victim reported being hit on the back of her head, causing her to be unconscious when found.
The police are now tracking down a male suspect they believe to be involved in the incident
Kuala Pilah district police chief Supt Syahrul Anuar Abdul Wahab said further investigations revealed that the incident occurred at around 10pm when the victim was on her way to work at Tuanku Ampuan Najihah Hospital (HTAN). She had been coming from the direction of Hutan Percha, Melaka.
"Upon arriving at the location, the victim said that her car was forced off the road by another vehicle.
"The suspect, believed to be in his late 30s, allegedly opened the victim's car door, pulled her out, and repeatedly punched her in the face," Syahrul said in a statement on Sunday, 21 April.
She was then hit with a blunt object on the back of her head, he added.
The incident is not likely to be a robbery case as initially reported, as the victim was not missing any valuable items, said the police chief
"The police are currently actively tracking down the suspect, while the motive and cause of the incident are being identified. The public is reminded not to make any speculations regarding this incident," Syahrul said.
He added that the victim suffered minor injuries to her right shoulder and head, and was taken to the nearest hospital for treatment.
