In a Facebook post yesterday, 27 April, the non-governmental organisation (NGO) received a photo of a dog that they believe was tied behind a lorry and dragged along a road in Serdang Jaya.

SAFM is urging any witnesses of the incident to make a report to the Department of Veterinary Services

Besides that, they are also requesting that authorities investigate the tragic incident.

"Animal abuse is illegal according to the Animal Welfare Act 2015, and if found guilty, the perpetrator can be punished with imprisonment of not more than two years, or a fine of not more than RM100,000, or both," reminded SAFM.

The organisation hopes that appropriate punishment will be meted out to people who abuse animals.
