Over 450 Areas In Klang Valley To Face Water Cut Due To Odour Pollution

The areas affected by the water disruption include 172 in Petaling, 194 in Sepang, 54 in Hulu Langat, 23 in Putrajaya, and 20 in Kuala Langat.

Earlier today, 31 August, odour pollution was detected at the Jenderam Hilir Raw Water Pump Station following which the Sungai Semenyih Water Treatment Plant was fully shut down, Air Selangor announced

In a statement, Air Selangor said that some 463 areas in five regions in the Klang Valley will be facing unscheduled water cuts

These areas include 172 in Petaling, 194 in Sepang, 54 in Hulu Langat, 23 in Putrajaya, and 20 in Kuala Langat, according to Air Selangor corporate communications head Elina Baseri.

“Consumers can get the list of areas affected by this water supply disruption through the Air Selangor website as well as the Air Selangor mobile app," Elina said.

Air Selangor has activated its emergency response plan following the disruption to provide water supply to affected consumers

In the statement, Elina stated that the company understands consumers' need for clean water, especially with the surge in COVID-19 cases, and will do all it can to minimise the impact of the disruption.

"Air Selangor is making all efforts to minimise the impact of disruption to the affected consumers."

She said that Air Selangor will provide updates progressively from time to time.

She urged consumers to refer to all official communication channels such as the Air Selangor app, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter or call its contact centre at 15300.
