Serial Paedophile Who Was Arrested For Molesting Schoolgirls Kept 15 Videos Of His Acts

20-year-old serial paedophile Mohd Amir Mohd Layi was arrested after an eight-year-old student in Terengganu informed her teacher of their encounters

The suspect, an air-conditioning technician, was arrested at his home on 27 March after the teacher made a police report, reported Malay Mail Online.

13 of his victims have since been positively identified by the police.

According to the police, the suspect would enter the schools located within Marang and Kuala Terengganu by approaching students on the pretext of looking for the toilet or visiting his sibling

"The suspect would often target students waiting for their parents to fetch them from school," said Terengganu Criminal Investigations Department chief Assistant Commissioner Fazlisyam Abdul Majid.

"He would then threaten the victims to keep quiet and the traumatised students would comply as the suspect starts recording the lewd act," Fazlisyam added.

Mohd Amir has been convicted for trespassing in the past.

Two of the suspect's mobile phones were seized by the police, one of which contained 15 videos of his attacks

Fazlisyam revealed that the suspect targets young girls between the ages of eight and 12, from 1 to 2pm on school days and 4 to 6pm on weekends.

It is believed that the suspect has been committing the acts since 2017.

"Communicate with your children. Ask them every day if anything is wrong," Fazlisyam advised parents.

"We must protect our children because paedophilia is a serious matter," he added.

Today, 19 April, Mohd Amir pleaded not guilty to his crimes at the Kuala Terengganu sessions court. If convicted, he could face up to 360 years in jail and at least 24 whippings.

He was charged with 12 accounts of physical sexual assault on children and four accounts of making or producing child pornography and physical sexual assault on a child under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, according to The Star.
