A 12-year-old student in Padang Besar, Perlis, developed near-paralysis and severe psychological trauma after allegedly being bullied in school

According to Harian Metro, the top scorer — affectionately called kakak by her family — was unable to attend classes for four months after suffering internal muscle complications and being diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Her mother, Norasikin Hasin, discovered the abuse after noticing physical bruising and extreme lethargy when her daughter returned home.

She claimed three classmates had regularly bullied her daughter, ostracising her and forcing her to complete their schoolwork

The situation reportedly escalated when a classmate pulled away a chair as the victim attempted to sit down.

Medical scans later revealed that the 12-year-old suffered a misaligned spine following the incident.

She underwent treatment at Hospital Tuanku Fauziah and Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah, where she remained hospitalised from 22 February until early March.

The trauma severely altered the child's behaviour, causing her to experience frequent hallucinations, night terrors, and physical instability

Her father, Muhamad Abdul Hadi Mohd Fauzi, noted that his monthly income of RM1,300 is heavily strained by ongoing medical expenses.

Padang Besar district police chief ACP Mohd Shokri Abdullah confirmed that authorities received a report regarding the case on 25 February.

Investigation papers under Section 323 of the Penal Code were completed and were referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for further instructions.

The Perlis State Education Department is awaiting the outcome of the police investigation before taking action.

Asking for help is not a sign of weakness.
