AirAsia group chief executive officer (CEO) Tony Fernandes is now 'moonlighting' as a food delivery rider for his airline's newly launched food platform, according to photos he shared on his Instagram

In one of the photos, Fernandes is seen standing beside a motorcycle while holding a helmet and pointing towards a box in AirAsia colours placed on the vehicle.

In the caption, the AirAsia CEO wrote, "Getting ready to make food deliveries to your house."

Called AirAsia Food, the service started out in June this year to support local businesses through food delivery service, the airline said

According to the statement, the AirAsia Food ordering platform has enabled over 200 merchants, including local businesses and multi-chain F&B outlets, to serve people around the Klang Valley.

The service is currently within Klang Valley only.

AirAsia Food claims to have a 0% commission model

And this model sets the company apart from other food delivery platforms, it said.

According to the statement, this 0% commission model enables merchants to "power and manage their own businesses without having to pay high commission rates".
