The Pokémon Company officially kicked off Pokémon's 30th anniversary celebrations in Malaysia with "PokéXciting!", a two-day fan festival held at KLCC Park on 12 and 13 September
The outdoor event transformed the city centre into an interactive venue featuring life-sized statues, giant inflatable displays, and family-focused activities.
The festival marked the official Malaysian debut of PokéXciting! Pikachu, who appeared in a city-exclusive turquoise costume during the Pikachu Parade.
The character was featured alongside popular original-generation Pokémon, including Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and Eevee.
As evening fell, the event transitioned into the PokéXciting! Special Night Show, which concluded with Kuala Lumpur's first-ever Pokémon-themed aerial drone light display over the city skyline.

The mobile app also introduced a region-specific GO Stamp Rally across KLCC Park, which will remain active for players for one month following the main weekend event.
The anniversary festivities are set to expand further into the retail sector beginning 1 October. Ombak KLCC will host a multi-month campaign featuring rotating interior decorations inspired by Pikachu, Fire-type, Grass-type, and Water-type Pokémon.
The mall's concourse will feature hands-on craft workshops, colouring sessions, and gift redemption booths for shoppers.
Gaming experiences will also feature prominently during the upcoming retail campaign
Visitors to Ombak KLCC can try out games at the trial play area, including Pokémon Pokopia and Pokémon Champions. The venue will also host the Pokémon TCG New Trainer Journey, offering tutorial sessions for the trading card game, alongside promotional demo decks and reward vouchers for original card accessories.
