Police Arrest Stepbrothers Who Did Car Drifts At A PPV And Sparked A Massive Fight
In a viral video, a man can be seen taking a golf club out of his car and threatening a person who was trying to stop the fight.
A massive fight broke out at the parking lot of a vaccination centre (PPV) in Baling, Kedah
According to Sinar Harian, the incident took place at Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah (UniSHAMS) on Tuesday, 7 September.
Kedah police chief Datuk Kamarulzaman Mamat said that the suspects who are believed to have started the fight are two stepbrothers aged 19 and 27.
Around 11.45am, the suspects arrived at the PPV and sparked chaos by driving recklessly and doing car drifts in the parking lot
Harian Metro reported that the suspects then disrupted other people who were waiting to get vaccinated.
Kamarulzaman said that their actions led to a scuffle between the two suspects and members of the public present.
"One of the suspects also took out a golf club and made criminal threats against a man who was trying to settle a fight," he explained.
A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media.
Police were then rushed to the scene and arrested one of the suspects
The 19-year-old was arrested around 12.30pm at the parking lot of the PPV.
"After questioning the suspect, police also found and confiscated a golf club at 2.30pm. Police then arrested another 27-year-old suspect at home in Ladang Kupang to assist investigations," Kamarulzaman elaborated.
He added that the authorities also confiscated a Proton Saga which is believed to have been driven by the suspect during the incident.
The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code and Section 6(1) of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958.
