Two drivers were arrested in Johor after acting as illegal traffic marshals for a luxury car convoy

According to the New Straits Times, the arrests followed a viral video posted on Threads at 6.16pm on 14 August, which showed the pair stopping vehicles at Bulatan Lebuh Kota Iskandar to let the convoy pass.

According to Iskandar Puteri deputy police chief Supt Saifullah Jaya @ Yahaya, officers from the district Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division launched an operation shortly after receiving reports.

Investigations revealed that the luxury convoy was travelling from Puteri Harbour towards the Johor Bahru city centre when the two men blocked traffic

"Such actions clearly endanger both the drivers and other road users," Saifullah said.

Saifullah added that the case is being investigated under Section 110 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for traffic obstruction, an offence punishable by a fine of up to RM1,000 upon conviction.
