Police Probe Attack At Wangsa Maju Bus Stop

A man was allegedly attacked while waiting at a bus stop in Wangsa Maju, with footage of the incident later going viral on social media

According to Harian Metro, the footage appears to show a man dressed in black suddenly attacking another man dressed in white with what appears to be a sharp object, while repeatedly kicking him.

China Press reported that while many bystanders were seen standing nearby and recording the incident, three men eventually intervened and managed to chase the attacker away.

The victim is believed to have sustained injuries in the incident.

Wangsa Maju district police chief ACP Annas Sulaiman confirmed that police had received a report from the victim and have launched an investigation

He said an investigation paper has been opened under Section 324 of the Penal Code, which covers voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means.

"No arrests have been made so far," he said when contacted today, 17 July.

Police have not disclosed the motive behind the attack or the extent of the victim's injuries. The case remains under investigation.
