Police have seized drugs worth an estimated RM16.2 million in a series of anti-drug operations across Selangor
In a press conference today, 23 October, Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar said the state's Narcotics Crime Investigation Department successfully dismantled four local and international drug trafficking syndicates last week.
The syndicates were busted through a series of joint operations involving the Gombak district police, KLIA district police, and Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad auxiliary police at KLIA.
Five raids were conducted in Klang, Rawang, and KLIA between 13 and 19 October.

A total of 240.3kg of various drugs, including cannabis buds, compressed cannabis, liquid and powdered ketamine, and liquid ecstasy, were seized
"The total value of the seized drugs is estimated at RM16.2 million," Shazeli said.
The drugs seized were estimated to be enough to supply approximately 801,000 users.

A total of eight suspects, aged between 19 and 48, were arrested during the raids
They comprised four Malaysians, three men and one woman, and four foreign nationals, three men and one woman. The foreign suspects had allegedly misused their social visit passes.
One of the local suspects was found to have seven previous criminal records.
Besides the drugs, police also seized assets linked to the syndicates worth RM54,835, including two cars — a Honda Accord and a Proton Saga — a Honda RS150 motorcycle, as well as RM135 in cash and 200 British pounds.
All suspects are being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
