The Ministry of Health (MOH) announced that MySejahtera has launched a new feature for pregnant or breastfeeding women to identify themselves in the app for vaccine registrations

According to MOH, expecting and breastfeeding mothers will now be able to declare themselves as such on the MySejahtera app.

The feature can be found in the 'COVID-19 Vaccination' section of the app. It currently shows a third option titled 'Update pregnancy/breastfeeding status' in the assessment segment.

According to an infographic shared by MOH, the Pfizer vaccine is suitable for both breastfeeding mothers and women who are 14 to 33 weeks pregnant

Meanwhile, the AstraZeneca vaccine is only suitable for lactating mothers. It is currently not recommended for pregnant mothers to receive the AstraZeneca or Sinovac vaccine.

Pregnant and breastfeeding women are advised to consult their doctors for further information or if they have any concerns with regards to receiving the vaccine for COVID-19.
