In collaboration with Sepang International Circuit, Rapid KL is providing free shuttle bus services for the F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix
According to Rapid KL's Instagram post, the buses will run from 7am to midnight from Friday to Sunday, 2 to 4 October, with a frequency of 10 to 15 minutes.
The special shuttle bus service to Sepang International Circuit will operate from these three locations:
– KLIA 2 — Level 1 Bus Hub, Bays B1, B2, and B3
– Bandar Baru Enstek — De-Village, Persiaran Milenia 2
– Mitsui Outlet Park — Bus Hub
Rapid Bus chief executive officer Syahrul Azmir Ahmad Zaki said 95 buses will be deployed for the service
He said this would ensure convenient and comfortable transportation for visitors travelling from key locations to the event venue.
"To complement the service, Rapid KL will also provide shuttle buses within the circuit to facilitate visitors' movement to key locations.
"The provision of these services reflects Rapid KL's commitment to supporting the hosting of international-standard events and encouraging the use of public transport," he said in a statement on 24 September, as quoted by Bernama.
In its travel guide, Rapid KL also suggested rail connections for F1-goers travelling to Sepang International Circuit
Visitors can consider taking the:
– Kelana Jaya LRT to KL Sentral
– KL Monorail to KL Sentral
– Kajang MRT to KL Sentral
– Ampang/Sri Petaling LRT to KL Sentral
– Putrajaya MRT to Putrajaya Sentral
From KL Sentral or Putrajaya Sentral, visitors can then take the KLIA Ekspres or KLIA Transit to KLIA 2, where they can board the free shuttle buses to Sepang International Circuit.
If you're heading to the circuit, do plan your journey in advance and leave early to allow extra travel time due to heavy traffic.
