The weekend of 2 to 4 October 2026 is shaping up to be one of the busiest event weekends of the year, with major events happening across Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Putrajaya, and Sepang
Whether you're into motorsports, live music, shopping, food, cars, wellness, or just looking for something to do, there's probably an event with your name on it.
In no particular order, here's what's happening.
1. Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix
The biggest event of the weekend is arguably happening down south at Sepang International Circuit, where the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia will take place from 2 to 4 October.
And there's going to be more than just racing.
Swedish DJ and producer Axwell will perform on 3 October, while Martin Garrix will headline the post-race concert on 4 October.
So, if you're heading to Sepang, you're getting three days of F1 action with some very big names on the music lineup.
2. Citrawarna Speed Festival
Over in Putrajaya, the Citrawarna Speed Festival is also taking place over the weekend.
The festival is part of the Visit Malaysia 2026 – 2027 campaign and features cultural performances, traditional arts and crafts, racing-themed activities, supercar displays, and an interactive F1 simulator competition.
The main event will take place at IOI City Mall Putrajaya, with additional activities at KLIA Terminal 1 and Sama-Sama Hotel KLIA.
One of the biggest highlights will be the Colours of Parade on 3 October, featuring around 1,500 dancers and cultural performers showcasing Malaysia's diverse traditions through music, dance, and colourful costumes.
The festival is free to attend, so you can drop by, check out the cultural showcases, admire some supercars, and even try your hand at the racing simulator without needing to buy an F1 ticket.

3. Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon
Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon (KLSCM) is returning to the capital on 3 and 4 October.
The races will take place around Dataran Merdeka, so expect plenty of runners, spectators, road closures, and general city-centre activity throughout the weekend.
If you're not running, you may want to check your route before heading into central KL.

4. HOMEs Expo
HOMEs Expo is taking place at Mid Valley Megamall from 2 to 4 October, bringing together home, living, and lifestyle exhibitors under one roof.
It could be a good excuse to browse for home upgrades, even if you went in telling yourself you're "just looking".

5. Bushiroad
Anime and Japanese pop culture fans have another reason to head to LaLaport BBCC, where Bushiroad will be bringing its event to the mall from 2 to 4 October.
Expect plenty of Japanese entertainment and pop-culture goodness throughout the weekend.

6. Malaysia Coffee Week
If your love language is coffee, make your way to 1 Utama for Malaysia Coffee Week from 1 to 4 October.
The event brings together coffee brands and enthusiasts for a caffeine-filled weekend, with plenty to discover for everyone from casual kopi drinkers to serious coffee nerds.

7. Fragrance Festival Malaysia
Fragrance Festival Malaysia 2026 is happening from 2 to 4 October, from 10am to 10pm, at Pavilion Exhibition Centre, Bukit Jalil.
Admission is free, and visitors can check out more than 70 brands and exhibitors, try different fragrances, attend talks and sharing sessions, and meet creators and industry guests.

8. Tokyo Auto Salon Malaysia
Car enthusiasts can head to MAEPS Serdang for Tokyo Auto Salon Malaysia 2026, happening from 2 to 4 October.
The three-day automotive event will feature customised cars, aftermarket products, exhibitions, live demonstrations, and more.
And if you've been keeping up with the event, you'll know that Fast & Furious actor Sung Kang, aka Han, has also been reported as a special guest for this year's edition.

9. International Tourism Arts & Culture exhibition and conference (INTAC 2026)
Over at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, INTAC 2026 will also be taking place during the busy weekend.
The event brings together industry players and visitors for an exhibition-focused experience, adding another option for anyone looking for something different to do around the city.

10. Le Tour de Langkawi
Cycling fans can catch the Le Tour de Langkawi action in Putrajaya, with the city serving as the finish line for the race.
So, if you're already heading to Putrajaya for the Citrawarna Speed Festival, you might want to check out what's happening around the finish area too.

11. Faizal Tahir Suara Rakyat
After three years away from the big stage, Faizal Tahir is making his return with Faizal Tahir: Suara Rakyat at Unifi Arena, Bukit Jalil on 3 October.
The concert also marks 20 years of Faizal's career in the Malaysian music industry, with the singer-songwriter set to perform 27 songs spanning his two-decade career.
Fans can expect familiar hits from the Mahakarya Cinta era alongside songs from his latest album, Jati Diri, as well as the stories and emotions behind some of the music that has shaped his career.

12. All-Star Legends Exhibition Match
Meanwhile, All-Star Legends is happening at Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) on 3 October.
The football match was originally scheduled to take place at TM National Stadium (National Stadium Bukit Jalil), but organisers have moved it indoors to MITEC due to the worsening haze and unpredictable weather conditions.
The game will kick off at 8.45pm and will be played in a faster 5-a-side format, rather than the original 11-a-side match.

13. IDOL Radio Live in Kuala Lumpur
K-pop fans have a particularly busy Saturday.
IDOL Radio Live in Kuala Lumpur will take place on 3 October at Inspire Live Arena, featuring KISS OF LIFE, 82MAJOR, WHIB, and Ismail Izzani.

14. Mic Drop At Mega Star Arena
Also on 3 October, Mic Drop is coming to Mega Star Arena Kuala Lumpur.
The comedy night features Kumar, Prakash Daniel, Saaniya Abbas, Harry Jun, and He Huang, with stand-up sets plus interactive and improvised segments.

15. Henry Lau in Kuala Lumpur
Henry Lau will be performing at IDEA Live Arena on 3 October as part of his Enjoy The Show world tour.
The concert starts at 7pm, so yes, technically you could squeeze in another event before or after this one if you're feeling ambitious.

16. Women Wellness Festival
Need something a little slower-paced?
The Women Wellness Festival is happening on 3 and 4 October, from 9am to 6pm, at Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur.
The two-day festival will feature talks, panels, workshops, movement sessions, wellness activities, and a marketplace. Festival passes cost RM20 and cover both days.

17. Kaleidoscope VIII — Infinite Beats
Kaleidoscope VIII: Infinite Beats is the eighth edition of the HANDS International Drumming Festival.
Taking place from 2 to 4 October at the Grand Theatre, Jeffrey Cheah Performing Arts Centre (JCPAC) in Sunway City, the grand concerts will bring together master drummers from Malaysia, Japan, Venezuela, Cuba, and the US.
Concert tickets start from RM98, while the wider festival also includes workshops, drum circles, pocket shows, an arts market, and a free international symposium.

18. TCE Baby Expo x TCE Kidz World
Parents and parents-to-be have their own reason to head to MITEC.
The 63rd TCE Baby Expo will take place alongside the 1st TCE Kidz World Expo from 2 to 4 October, running from 10am to 8pm each day.
The three-day event will bring together baby and parenting brands, with products and services for families at different stages of their parenting journey.
There's also plenty for older kids at the new TCE Kidz World Expo, including activities such as slime and soap-making workshops, sand art, messy play, a carousel, face painting, a funfair, and even a petting zoo.
