#Budget2025: RM550 Million Allocated For Visit Malaysia 2026 Promotion & Activities

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that close to RM550 million has been allocated for Visit Malaysia 2026 to enhance tourism promotion and activities

These efforts focus on several key areas, including organising cultural activities, tourism events, and improving flight access to Malaysia, as well as empowering local communities through the arts by promoting handicrafts and batik.

In addition, RM110 million has been earmarked to upgrade tourism areas, foster ecotourism partnerships, and support UNESCO nominations

This allocation includes:

  • Upgrading facilities at Taman Negara Endau Rompin, Johor; Pulau Redang, Terengganu; and Pantai Tusan Bekenu, Sarawak
  • Establishing ecotourism partnerships with UNDP and the Habitat Foundation
  • Nominating UNESCO sites such as the Sungai Lembing Tin Mines in Pahang
  • Recognising the Chingay parade and lion dance as cultural heritage

In a bid to preserve Kuala Lumpur's status as a cultural and creative city, Khazanah has allocated RM600 million to restore and elevate the historical significance of the Sultan Abdul Samad Building and Carcosa Seri Negara. 

This includes constructing an elevated bridge linking Perdana Botanical Gardens with Carcosa Seri Negara.
