2 Killed In A Shootout Outside Shopping Mall In PJ

The shootout took place following an attempted gold heist.

An attempted robbery at the Atria Shopping Gallery in Petaling Jaya, Selangor led to a shootout between the robbers and the police today, 18 May

China Press reported the mall in the Damansara Jaya neighbourhood was the scene of the attempted heist as several men broke into a goldsmith shop during incident at about 5pm.

The men managed to escape with some jewellery but got into a shootout after they were intercepted by the police just outside the building.

It was reported that two men died and one was wounded during the incident, while another three suspected robbers were arrested

It is believed that there are other members of the gang who are still at large and the police were looking for them.

In another report by Astro Awani, Selangor Criminal Investigation Department (CID) chief senior assistant commissioner Fadzil Ahmat has confirmed that a robbery had taken place, but did not elaborate on the details.

A video of the incident has since surfaced on social media, showing at least two men lying on the ground while one man could be seen clearly holding a gun
