Many were left injured after a drive-by shooting in front of Sekolah Menengah Telok Datok in Banting, Selangor today, 25 September

According to The Star, Selangor Criminal Investigations Department (CID) chief Senior ACP Datuk Fadzil Ahmat said some gunmen on a motorcycle had opened fire at two men in a BMW in front of the secondary school at about 12.45pm.

"The suspects had tailed the victims and fired several shots at the car, which was driven by a bodyguard. The victims were hit on the chest and other parts of the body and were rushed to Banting Hospital for treatment," he said.

However, in an effort to escape the gunmen, the victims had driven into a group of students and several other vehicles in front on the school

Photos and videos uploaded by witnesses have already begun to circulate social media, showing a blue BMW with bullet holes in its windscreen, a wrecked Proton Wira, as well as a few students lying on the ground.

The CID chief said that three students suffered injuries to their legs and necks and have also been rushed to the hospital for treatment.

"Doctors are also checking whether they suffered any other injuries," Fadzil said.

Harian Metro reported that two other individuals in a separate car were injured as a result of the collision.

Police are currently in the midst of identifying the suspects

"We believe the motive behind the attack is a clash between two groups," Fadzil said.

He urged witnesses with additional information to contact the nearest police station to aid in the investigation.
