In a video that has gone viral on Facebook, a tau fu fah seller in Bandar Sunway was caught washing disposable plastic bowls that have allegedly been thrown away to be reused

The man who confronted the street vendor claimed that the seller picked up a bowl that was already thrown away and washed it in a pail of water without any soap

"Uncle, what are you doing? I threw the bowl away already, but you picked it up to wash and re-use," the man could be heard saying in the video.

He also claimed that this was the second time he witnessed the seller doing the same thing.

The seller responded that he "does this everyday", adding that he did not use soap as there is "no oil" in the bowl

"I dare to eat (from this), so I dare to sell," he repeatedly said in the video when further questioned by the man filming the incident.

The video, which was posted on Sunday, 23 September, has since been viewed close to 600,000 times and shared by over 10,000 people on Facebook. Many were upset and disgusted by the seller's actions:

However, some pointed out that such unhygienic practices are not unheard of and that the man who posted the video should have advised the uncle or report the incident to the authorities instead

It is not known if the seller's actions have been reported to relevant authorities at the time of writing. SAYS has reached out to the source of the video for further comment.
