Thailand's Largest Riverside Mall Is So Extra That It Has An Indoor Floating Market
UPDATE: The mall is now open.
Planning a shopping spree to Bangkok soon? You're in luck 'coz the biggest riverside mall in Thailand will be opening on 9 November!
IconSiam is located along Chao Praya river in Khlong San, Bangkok and has been dubbed as the "mother of all malls", taking up over 525,000 square metres.
Among the mall's 500 stores will be Thailand's first ever Takashimaya departmental store
The Japanese department store will cover seven storeys of the mall and will sell more than 500 brands, 180 of which are well-known Japanese brands and 80 of which are brand new to Thailand.
The new Bangkok landmark will also have one of Southeast Asia's tallest fountain shows measuring over 400 metres
That's equivalent to about 88 double-storey houses!
And just in case that wasn't enough, the mall will even have an indoor floating market
Might as well.
Other attractions to look forward to is an amusement park, a three-star Michelin restaurant, and a heritage museum – all located under one roof
The mall will also have:
- the first Apple store in Thailand,
- a 3,000-seater auditorium,
- the largest Adidas Original store in Asia,
- the first JD Sports outlet in Thailand, and
- Nike's first ASEAN branch.
The shopping complex will be fitted with two condominiums that are said to be the tallest buildings in Bangkok – Magnolias Waterfront Residences and The Residences at Mandarin Oriental.
Guess this will be one more place to add to our itenarary. ;)
