He could very well be termed as Malaysia's very own "pickup artist" but for doing what he did over a decade with over 200 women he is what he is: a sexual predator.

In his well-planned and almost ruthlessly executed sexual exploits, he would first woo his victims through social media before convincing them to have sex with him

He would then secretly film those sexual encounters with his unsuspecting victims, one of whom a 65-year-old grandmother, and use the videos to blackmail them for thousands of ringgit in cash and more sexual favours

His victims over a span of 15 years included a 65-year-old grandmother, teachers, doctors, a policewoman, a lecturer, foreign maids and single mothers who did nothing wrong beyond letting their sexual desires cloud their common sense.

They were trapped for months by the brazen predator whose pursuit for short-term sexual encounters wove a web of extortion and blackmail.

His victims also involved an unknown number of men.

According to reports, using sexually-explicit photos and secretly filmed sex videos of his victims, the 53-year-old raked in more than RM300,000 with just 7 victims

The Star reported the 53-year-old man, who is originally from Penang, would threaten to send the footage he recorded to relatives and children of his victims if they did not meet his demands.

His sex crime spree, that went on for 15 long years, came to light when 7 of those victims sought the help of crime activist Kuan Chee Heng, who convinced 2 of them to lodge police reports in Petaling Jaya and Subang Jaya

Both the women were uncomfortable doing it over the counter, so he advised them to do it discreetly.

Police then unlocked the secrets of the career conman, who started his journey of lies in 2000, with the help of one of the victims.

The victim, who declined to be identified, conducted her own investigations and found phone numbers of hundreds of his other victims stored in his mobile phone.

“She also found hotel receipts and messages on Facebook and other social networking sites that the suspect used to befriend his victims,” said the police source.

According to statements given by the women, he preyed on their emotions by sending them photos accompanied by child-like text messages. After sleeping with the victims, he would leave a love note for them.

In order to get the victims to chat with him, he would send them a picture of himself looking sick in hopes of gaining their sympathy.

Some of the victims also told police that they believe the suspect had cast a spell on them and that was the reason why they were easily manipulated by him.

He would lie to his victims about various jobs that he claimed to hold, including as a freelance trainer, tour guide and marriage counsellor to dupe them to meet him

Kuan said the suspect lied to his victims about various jobs that he held, including as a freelance trainer, tour guide and marriage counsellor to dupe them to meet him.

“He spends just three weeks to cheat a victim before he moves on to his next target. He managed to cheat a grandmother when he randomly met her in a bus,” he said.

“He met the poor granny in the bus in Penang, who confessed to him that she had some problems with securing a legal tender. He claimed he had some contacts that could help and eventually conned her.

“He also had sex with her and played the sympathy card. He managed to make off with gold jewellery worth RM12,000.”

However, with the quick action of the police, the sexual predator was finally caught in Kota Kinabalu by Sabah police on 26 January and was handed over to Subang police on 28 January. He will be charged on 10 February.

A police source said that the current remand order on the suspect will today be extended by two days as the police need more time to investigate the case.

Only two women have lodged reports so far, despite investigations having turned up more than 200 victims throughout Malaysia.

The police are hoping the others will lodge reports against the suspect. “We understand some are still traumatised, but they should come forward to shed light on the investigations,” the source told the Malay Mail Online.

According to police, he left for Sabah last month, where he got married for a fifth time, and investigations found him planning to dupe new victims. He would only spend three weeks on a victim before moving on to next.

The source said police strongly believe the suspect was going after new targets in Sabah because he was a repeat offender.

“Some of the victims had told us the suspect fled to Sabah because he realised the women he had conned were teaming up and planning to lodge police reports.” They allegedly told police he was after potential victims in the state.

One of his previous wives and her family also lodged a police report against him. They feared that their daughter was being conned by the man she loved.

For now, it's a wrap for this predatory Penangite, given he doesn't find a loophole in the system and escape like Corporal Sirul Azhar Umar, the killer of Altantuya
