3 Animal Lovers Braved The Rain To Save A Limping Dog Who Had Bones Hanging Off It
On Sunday, 16 December, a video capturing a limping three-legged dog went viral on Facebook
A close inspection saw the dog's front right leg did not have any flesh and strings were tied around its knee.
"I don't know who did this to the dog. I swear the person is a fool. (The leg) is only left with bones," a voice was heard saying in the video as the dog limped away.
The video's caption mentioned that the dog was spotted near TF Value Mart in Gemas, Negeri Sembilan.
At the time of writing, the video has been shared over 10,000 times.
The Facebook user who filmed the video, Ira Syahirah, told SAYS that the dog is a mother of four puppies
"The dog is no longer in front of my store (as) it wandered away from the shoplot last night," Ira said.
"I am not sure if the (authorities) have captured the dog."
Ira told SAYS that she requested her friend to post the video and clarified that the footage was filmed last Friday, 13 December.
"I cried when I saw the dog's leg was tied so tightly until it's only left with bones," Ira added.
Very quickly, the video caught the attention of animal groups, prompting animal lovers to rescue the poor creature
A Facebook user who goes by Mandy Yeap Yeap shared the incident to an animal protection group and stated her intention to save the dog.
"This photo was taken by a friend," Yeap related in a post.
"It's understood that the dog is already tired. Today, the dog was chased by four different groups of people. Please don't chase after the dog anymore!"
Yeap expressed her concern that the dog might get stuck somewhere, making it impossible for it to come back to its puppies
In an update posted at 9.28am today, 17 December, Yeap said that the dog has been rescued by her and two other animal lovers
She related that the trio waited until dawn and braved the rain to rescue the dog.
"Right now, Elaine Sew is taking the dog to the vet," Yeap said.
"I am going to have a fever. Wishing the dog's family of five the best."
