A video has gone viral after showing a woman repeatedly tugging on a sheep's wool while visiting the Sheep Sanctuary at Kea Farm in Brinchang, Cameron Highlands
Taiwanese Threads user @ppc.ppc_pc shared the clip, reportedly recorded on 19 June, showing a woman interacting with a sheep.
At first glance, she appears to be petting the animal. However, a closer look shows her grabbing and pulling at its wool for no apparent reason.
The sheep appeared visibly uncomfortable throughout the interaction and could be seen trying to move away from her
At one point, the animal even charged towards the woman, seemingly in response to her actions.
Rather than backing away, she appeared to retaliate by striking the sheep before continuing the interaction.
She was also seen laughing and chatting with a man beside her throughout the encounter.
The footage was recorded from a distance by the Taiwanese tourist, who later shared it online after becoming upset by what they had witnessed
In a follow-up post addressing comments questioning why they did not intervene, the user explained that they were filming afar using a zoom lens.
"I am Taiwanese myself. This video was taken by me on 19 June at the entrance of the Sheep Sanctuary in Cameron Highlands, Malaysia, with 5x zoom," they wrote.
"There were so many people in the park that day. If I went down and approached her, I would have had to walk around a fence and down the stairs to get to where she was," they said.
The video has since attracted thousands of views and comments from people condemning the woman's behaviour
Many commenters said the sheep's reaction suggested it was distressed and uncomfortable.
Others pointed out that attractions involving animals should be treated with care and respect, regardless of whether visitors are allowed to touch them.
"Are you sick? Why do you have to bully it?" one commenter wrote.
"Everyone else was taking photos, petting, and feeding the animals. Meanwhile, she was standing there bullying the sheep," the person who recorded the video said.
