Relations between US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are reportedly hitting a rocky patch, following disclosures that the US leader allegedly branded his Israeli counterpart "crazy"
Reports from Axios and ABC News indicate that Trump unleashed a torrent of profanity-laced fury during a phone call earlier this week..
The sudden friction stems from Israel's threats to launch a devastating bombing campaign against Beirut, the capital of Lebanon.

Trump reportedly fears that such aggressive military manoeuvres by Israel will completely derail ongoing Washington-led peace negotiations with Tehran
For the 79-year-old US President, currently serving his second term, finding a swift diplomatic exit from a war that is battering the American economy is paramount.
The stakes are incredibly high with the critical mid-term elections less than six months away this November.
These elections will ultimately determine whether the Republican Party can maintain its grip on Congress.
Trump is also battling a fierce internal mutiny from his own Make America Great Again (MAGA) loyalists, who complain that he is blindly following Israel's directives regarding Iran.

During the explosive phone call, Trump reportedly shouted: "You are f*cking crazy. You would have been rotting in prison long ago if not for me; I saved your position. Now everyone hates you, and everyone hates Israel because of this."
While Israeli media outlets have flatly denied Trump's alleged outburst, the White House has remained tight-lipped.
When pressed to confirm the exchange, officials merely directed reporters to Trump's recent post on Truth Social.
In that particular update, Trump publicly thanked Netanyahu for agreeing to withdraw forces from Beirut and halting hostilities with Hezbollah (an escalation that had previously caused Iran to suspend peace talks).
The economic fallout from the conflict, particularly skyrocketing commodity prices, continues to threaten Republican prospects in the upcoming midterms
Analysts note that while Trump is desperately engineering an exit strategy toward peace, Netanyahu remains incentivised to prolong the warfare. This fundamental divergence highlights the limits of their ideological partnership.
