A man was detained by the public after he was suspected of secretly recording women in a restroom at a retail outlet in Pasir Gudang, Johor
The incident came to light after a video of the incident was shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, by @jnmalaysia.
In the video, a woman off-camera, can be heard demanding the man's phone password to check if he had recorded any inappropriate videos. The man is seen being held by another individual.
"Give me your password now," yelled the woman.
The suspect was then asked to reveal the hijab and women's sandals he used to disguise himself as a woman to enter the ladies' restroom
The man was also seen wearing henna on his toes, leading his captors to question whether it was part of his disguise.
As the interrogation intensified, the man admitted he was married and expressed deep shame over his actions while begging to be released.
However, his interrogator retorted by saying, "Aren't you ashamed of entering the women's restroom in the first place?"
The incident has garnered significant attention from netizens, with many expressing their anger and concerns over the man's action
"Don't laugh at the slippers he's wearing. That's a sign that he is spying on women. Who knows how long he's been doing this? How many women's dignities have been tarnished out there?" said one user.
Another user commented, "Check his Telegram, he must be a seller," suspecting that he might be a distributor of illicit content.
"It's so terrifying! Now I might need my husband to accompany me even to the public restroom. It's no longer safe," lamented one concerned user.
