2 People Injured After Sinkhole Appears In Seoul And Swallows Car

A sinkhole appeared in the middle of a road in western Seoul today, 29 August, swallowing an entire car
The incident left two people injured — a woman in her 70s and a man in his 80s — one of whom is in critical condition, according to a report by The Korea Herald.
The vehicle rolled over sideways and plunged into the sinkhole as the passenger and driver were travelling along Seongsan-ro in Yeonhui-dong, Seodaemun-gu.
The woman reportedly suffered cardiac arrest, prompting firefighters to perform CPR on her before both victims were transported to the hospital
According to KBS News, the sinkhole is estimated to be six metres wide, four metres long, and two metres deep.
Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the sinkhole.
