She captured hearts with her memorable name and admirable intellect.
A Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) graduate recently caught netizen's attention due to her unique name — Queen Sayang
With her full name being Nurqueen Sayang Dinnie Wirakarnain, most of her friends usually call her Queen, but her family affectionately calls her Sayang.
In a conversation with SAYS, she shared some insights into her name, explaining that her parents drew inspiration for her first name from Queen Medical Centre in Nottingham, where her oldest sister was born.
"As for the name Sayang, my parents had trouble finding a suitable name for me, so my grandma suggested it, hoping that I would be loved by everybody. That's how my parents came up with my name," she added.
It is this enchanting moniker of hers that caused a video uploaded by Queen on her Instagram to go viral, with many netizens amazed by her name
The video was of UiTM's 97th Convocation Ceremony earlier this year, in which Queen can be seen receiving her graduation certificate while the announcer enthusiastically lists out her achievements. This includes the Vice Chancellor's Award, as well as the Best Student Award for both her faculty and programme.

Speaking about her graduation, Queen stated that she felt extremely happy and was in awe of the fact that she had completed her education despite the challenges she faced
"I have cried and almost felt like giving up while studying because it felt incredibly hard. Mama said that I should stay positive and that I could do it. Alhamdulillah, I succeeded," mStar quoted her as saying.
"The person I am most thankful for is Mama, who always provided support and words of encouragement. She has always advised me to never give up, keep trying, and stay positive," she added.
After the video of her graduation ceremony went viral, netizens questioned if Queen's name was truly her legal name
In response, she uploaded a TikTok, in which she was seen displaying an image of her MyKad and SPM certificate to prove that Nurqueen Sayang is her legal name, in reply to a question that read, "Now I need to see your IC as proof. Otherwise, I will not believe it."
Despite the sceptics, Queen expressed fondness for her name, stating that it is truly memorable and leaves a lasting impression on everyone she meets.
"I don't mind people calling me Queen or Sayang, as these names are an integral part of who I am. I'm grateful to my parents for their creative choice in naming me," she told SAYS.
