In a short video posted on Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement (JSPT)'s Facebook page earlier this week, a Kuala Lumpur traffic police officer is seen clearing out clogged drainage using his bare hands into the drain and pulling out rubbish

According to Traffic Investigation and Enforcement (JSPT), chief Deputy Commissioner Azisman Alias, the officer was passing through the area when he saw the blockage.

Fearing that the blockage could trigger a bigger flood and traffic jam along Jalan Imbi - Sultan Ismail, the officer did what needed to be done, Azisman said.

The officer in the video was identified as Lans Koperal Mohd Amirul Mohd, who received due praise for his excellent service and is now an outrider for Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah

The JSPT chief Deputy Commissioner while commending the Mohd Amirul for his dedication, said that every police officer should take their duty seriously.

"We encourage our officers to give their best to the community even when it goes beyond our scope of duty," he said, adding that the department value all its officers and encourage their dedication by giving them just reward for their extraordinary services.

"Any officer who performs a good deed will receive a letter of appreciation and will be considered for promotion, as encouragement. We want more of our officers to behave in a noble way," Azisman was quoted as saying by NST Online yesterday, 20 July.
