CCTV footage of a hotel front desk worker and his colleague being assaulted by two men has been circulating the Internet

The incident reportedly took place at a hotel in Bukit Bintang at 4am on Sunday, 22 December.

The almost 3-minute long video shows two men threateningly shoving aside a hotel staff and trespassing behind the counter to assault another staff member.

For a full minute, the men took turns slapping the employee violently in the head and hitting him with objects picked up from the front desk

Some items identified include a calculator, a desk organiser, and even a cellophane tape holder.

While the video has no audio, the perpetrators also appeared to be verbally threatening the man while constantly attacking him with kicks and slaps.

Throughout the incident, the hotel employee only held his hands out in defence and did not fight back.

In the end, the two offenders were seen leaving the hotel while the hotel staff was seen picking his phone up in a daze

The police have since been informed and are currently tracking down the suspects.

"We are investigating the matter under Section 323 of the Penal Code for causing hurt and Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief," said Dang Wangi police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Fahmi Visuvanathan Abdullah when contacted by The Star yesterday, 25 December.
