The #BenderaPutih movement has truly brought out the best in Malaysians as many have been stepping up to help each other

It goes without saying that it's a privilege to have a roof over your head and food to eat, as life hasn't been easy for many during this lockdown.

Amid a loss in jobs and struggles to make ends meet, it's touching to see that people are reaching out to their community – even if it's in the simplest of ways.

A photo that has been recently circulating WhatsApp is a true depiction of this:

In the Facebook group PenangToday Community, a member, Lee Beng Poh, shared a photo of an uncle at a hawker standing behind a table with packs of food.

Next to the food, there is a sign that reads, "Kalau lapar boleh ambil makanan ini", which translates to, "If you're hungry, help yourself to this food".

Despite not doing it for any recognition, the uncle's simple act of kindness has still earned him praise on the Internet

Others have since also shared the photo, which has now gone viral.

Netizen Fa Abdul suggests that if anyone comes across kind people like this, to "pay forward to them, help them cover some expenses so they can offer their kindness to more people".
