Three Singaporean construction workers secured complimentary tickets to the Singaporean Formula 1 Grand Prix from their employer after completing a viral social media challenge
The challenge originated from a creative initiative devised by the management of Parklab Play, a Singaporean design and construction firm specialising in public recreational spaces, outdoor fitness areas, and sports facilities.
Hoping to highlight the behind-the-scenes personnel responsible for building community infrastructure while rewarding top performers, the company challenged three crew members to record a short promotional video.
The single condition to unlock the grand prize was achieving 2,000 likes on Instagram.
In the short video clip uploaded to the company's official handle, one of the workers enthusiastically laid out the terms of the challenge while dancing
The trio then took turns describing their daily responsibilities within the firm, ranging from site planning and structural assembly to maintaining rigorous safety standards across project sites, before making a direct appeal to viewers to help them reach their milestone.
The video rapidly resonated with online audiences, amassing over 100,000 views and surging past 7,500 likes, easily surpassing the original threshold.
Netizens flooded the comment section with supportive messages, expressing appreciation for the workers' everyday contributions towards building local playgrounds, schools, residential estates, and public roads.
A representative from Parklab Play confirmed that the company honoured the agreement by securing official event tickets for all three workers
A company representative will also accompany the workers to the circuit, ensuring that the first-time spectators enjoy a smooth experience during the race weekend.
