Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced RM100 million has been allocated to hawker centres, food stalls, and markets
The money will be used to enhance and upgrade these spaces in line with the government's commitment to ensuring the comfort and safety of consumers.
The allocation will be used for the following initiatives:
- Building new stalls and upgrading public market infrastructure under all local councils (PBT) nationwide
- Providing business spaces for small traders at Tamu Desa in Sabah and Sarawak
- Upgrading business facilities managed by DBKL and MARA
This effort is part of a broader strategy to improve conditions for local traders while ensuring the public has access to safe and comfortable spaces to shop and dine.
