An elderly woman in Singapore died from a heart attack after she discovered that her husband fell to his death from their HDB flat on 20 August
A neighbour claimed she initially thought that a bamboo pole had fallen to the ground when she heard a loud thud outside her window
However, when she looked out, she was surprised to see the old man lying face down on the ground next to some clothes and the bamboo pole before asking her grandchildren to immediately contact the police.
Paramedics found the old man motionless and pronounced him dead at the scene while police has since classified the case as unnatural death.
Another neighbour claimed that she saw the elderly man's wife unconscious while being carried out of her home on a stretcher
The 70-year-old wife reportedly died from a heart attack after she realised that her husband had fallen out of the window.
According to The New Paper, the woman was sent to the hospital but could not be saved despite being administered CPR.
The elderly couple was living together with their youngest daughter in their three-room flat
They also have a son and another daughter who live separately from their family.
One of the neighbours claimed that she had bought breakfast for the couple on the day of the incident.
When she knocked on the door, the eldest daughter opened the door instead and immediately started crying when she saw the neighbour.
"The daughter was crying greatly, it pains us to see her that way," the neighbour said as quoted by Mothership.
