A woman in Kemaman, Terrenganu, was disappointed to discover green mould growing on a chicken burger she had ordered at a KFC outlet last Tuesday, 24 January

In a now deleted post in a community Facebook group, the woman revealed that the burger was purchased for takeaway at the Kemaman KFC outlet.

It was only upon returning home that she realised something was amiss with her Cheezy O.R. Burger.

"I'm so disappointed by today's incident... The bun was very hard and mouldy, and the chicken smelled stale," the woman complained.

The photos she posted showed mould growing on the surface of the bun and a dark patch on her chicken patty.

"I was craving some KFC chicken, but this is what I got for what I paid," she said.

The incident has since been addressed by KFC Malaysia in a media statement on 26 January

The fast food chain stated that they have reached out to the woman and other relevant parties to further investigate the incident.

"We refer to the recent news reports regarding an incident at our Kemaman outlet. KFC takes this matter very seriously," they said.

They also assured that the health and safety of their customers will always be their top priority.
