Woman Mysteriously Found Dead In Taman Jaya Lake An Hour After People Saw Her Exercising

The incident took place at a park near a popular mall.

On Monday, 15 February, police found a dead body floating in the Taman Jaya lake in Petaling Jaya

According to Malay Mail, Petaling Jaya police headquarters received a call from a member of the public around 10.09am to report a floating human body in the lake of a park near a popular mall.

A team of officers from the Petaling Jaya district police station along with fire and rescue personnel from the Kelana Jaya branch were then dispatched to the location and recovered the body.

An eyewitness claimed to have seen the woman exercising in the vicinity of the lake around 8am.

About an hour later, they saw a body floating in the lake and believed it was the same woman spotted earlier.

Petaling Jaya district police chief ACP Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said to Harian Metro, "The witness who is also a worker at the lake claims that they saw the victim exercising around 8am before finding the woman floating in the water about an hour later."

"Upon further investigation, police did not find identifying documents and there are no elements of crime as of now," he added.

Police have classified the case as sudden death

Harian Metro reported that authorities are currently awaiting results of a post-mortem by the University of Malaya Medical Centre.
