A woman from Medan, Indonesia, pretended to be dead because she did not want to pay off her debt

The woman, only identified as L, did so by posting a message on her daughter's Facebook account and announcing her own death, reported Kosmo.

She also included photos of herself as a 'corpse' in a shroud, as well as a picture of a stretcher that she allegedly took from Google.

The post also claimed that L had died in an accident that happened on a bridge near her home and that her body would be buried in Aceh.

Maya Gunawan, the person who lent L money, said that she had asked L several times to pay off her debt, but the woman admitted that she did not have the funds to do so

L had previously promised that she would pay off what she owed on 20 November, but she failed to do so and continued to request that Maya extend the repayment period until 6 December.

However, when the time came for L to pay back the money, she made the Facebook post announcing her death.

Her daughter, Najwa Almira Ginting, then came forward to reveal that her mother was still alive and was putting on a show because she refused to pay the debt.

Najwa then pleaded with those who were affected by her mother's actions to forgive her.
