Here's How You Can Apply For BR1M If You Were Rejected The First Time

Applications will be open from 2 April until 31 May 2018.

Individuals whose 1Malaysia People's Aid (BR1M) application was rejected in the first phase, can appeal for the aid starting next month

According to Berita Harian, Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani said last Thursday, 1 March, "Those who did not receive BR1M this time around, can send their appeal for consideration beginning April."

While the payment for BR1M 2018 has commenced and paid in stages to eligible recipients, those who weren't deemed eligible by the government to receive the aid will be given a second chance to appeal their eligibility status.

Those who failed in their applications for BR1M 2018 will be receiving a letter or email explaining the reasons.

The eligibility status to receive the financial aid is based on individual or household income

Household with monthly income of RM3,000 and below are entitled to RM1,200 in aid, and household with income of between RM3,001 to RM4,000 will receive RM900.

Meanwhile, individual recipients with an income of RM2,000 and below will receive RM450.

To those who would like to appeal for BR1M 2018, the process must be done manually by filling up an appeal form with supporting documents

According to MySumber, applicants can submit their applications from 2 April 2018 until 31 May 2018 through:

  1. Inland Revenue Board's branch (IRB).
  2. Urban Transformation Centre (UTC).
  3. Revenue Service Centre (RSC).

Applications must attach a copy of these documents:

  1. Payslip.
  2. The spouse or dependents identity card.
  3. Necessary supporting documents based on the reason(s) given for rejection.

The appeal form must be completed along with the required documents and shall be sent to any of the channels mentioned above.

Around RM6.3 billion have been allocated for BR1M disbursement to roughly seven million Malaysians throughout the country
